A female German tourist driving a rental vehicle was rear-ended by a truck in the Fern Gully today after eye witnesses said she brought her car to a sudden stop in the middle of the road.

It's not clear what caused the woman to brake sharply but paramedics report that, despite losing consciousness in the collision, the woman had a broad smile on her face as she was rushed to the St. Ann's Bay Hospital.
